The team are taking on six different challenges across England and Scotland, joined by different colleagues from a range of organisations. Each leg is around 50 miles and stops at participating stores and Post Offices along the way, meeting staff and customers before continuing their cycle challenge.
So far, the challenge has seen riders Andrew Goddard, Managing Director at Payzone, and Simon Lambert, Commercial Director at Payzone, take on routes in Manchester, Birmingham, the West Midlands and Glasgow. Last weekend our very own Managing Director Stephen Burnett donned the lycra and took to his saddle to join the collaboration, taking in the North Eastern route alongside: Andrew Goddard, Simon Lambert, Martin Kearsley, Banking Director at the Post Office and Greg Hunt, Head of Operations in the banking services team.
On Friday 25th September the team completed a route across Greater London and the final route will be in Hampshire on Friday 2nd October.
The team aim to raise £15,000 for their chosen charities with almost £11,000 raised to date and over 100kg of food has been donated to the Trussell Trust. The charities that will benefit from the Cycle4 Challenge fundraising are MAG (Mines Advisory Group) who help make areas with unexploded ordnance safe for local people, Trussell Trust who work to end hunger in the UK through foodbanks and campaigning, and Sands, who support those affected by still birth and neonatal death.
